Extensive House Renovation Completed!! 😁

Happy Weekend!! I hope everyone had a great week and look forward to enjoying one of the last of the Summer weekends!

We recently completed an extensive remodeling project for Joanne in Seekonk. She was referred to us by Steve Medeiros, AIA, who designed the project. It included a dining room addition at one end of the house and a garage and sunroom addition at the other end of the house. We also remodeled the kitchen, bathroom and a former bedroom/office that now connects the two additions.

This project was loaded with many features that we designed into the project or added on as we worked with Joanne on her selections.

On the exterior - She added custom garage doors; cobblestones as a transition from the driveway to the garage; attic storage in the garage; moved the bulkhead to a new location; and a propane fired emergency generator.

In the dining room – She added a propane fired fireplace with a stone face; bench seats, with storage, on either side of the fireplace; and a circle top and half round feature windows. In the kitchen is an induction cooktop; oven/microwave combo; pantry closet; quartz countertops; tile backsplash; under mount kitchen sink; island that seats 4 people; undercabinet lighting; and a large window with a view of the woods. In the sunroom and family room are vaulted ceilings; skylights; bench seat with storage; picture window with a view of the backyard; round feature window and alarm system. In the bathroom we reused the vanity and placed it in a new location; moved the washer and dryer from the basement to a stackable unit; tiled shower with a frameless shower door; linen closet; and a combination toilet and bidet.

On many projects, Clients will ask about performing additional work. We usually have all the trades – carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters – on the job, so we can usually accommodate their requests. In Joanne’s case, she asked that we install CertainTeed Cedar Impressions on the rest of the house to pull the exterior look all together. You can zoom in on the exterior pictures to capture the look of shingles without the heavy maintenance of natural cedar shingles.

Here is a link to more pictures of the project – https://www.calyxbuilds.com/blogsept7th - Joanne is so happy with the work that not only is she considering a second project with Calyx, she is now on our list of references! Thank you Joanne!
