T’was the night before demolition, when all through the office,
Not a creature was stirring, not even the bosses.The cabinets were chosen by the
Homeowners with care,
In hopes that Calyx would soon would be there.
The Homeowners were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of their new kitchen danced in their heads;
And Bob in his Bruins sweater and JoJo’s cat in her lap,
Had just settled their brains for a pre-demo nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Bob sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the windows he flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters, and lifted the sash.
The dumpster in the driveway was covered in snow,
Calyx is ready for the demolition to start tomorrow!
When what to Bob’s wondering eyes should appear,
But two confused looking Project Managers, Dan and Steve, with two trucks filled at the rear
With tool belts, and hammers and ladders and yardsticks,
He knew in that moment he must help them quick!
More rapid than a hemi pickup, down the stairs Bob came,
Once he arrived he saw the PMs sleep walking and calling out their crew by name!
“On Shippie! On Bach! On Kevin and Paul!
“On! Shaine! On Jenna, on Mustafa, and All!
“To the start of the foundation! to insulating the kneewall!
“Now demo away! Let’s fill up the haul!”
Then Freddy, Matt and Kareem, lead their crew into the home
With a bucket full of tools – and a lot of spray foam;
Bob stood there, just full of surprise,
While the crew looked at him with twinkling eyes;
They were dressed all in Calyx gear, from their hats to their boots,
and over all that they wore Tyvek suits!
Bob tried to wake them all up from their sleep spell with a smack,
But they just walked right past him without looking back.
Their tools dropped to the floor, the big blueprint laid out,
Bob waited to see how all this would turnout;
Without much ado the demolition began,
The guys were bustling about, working like madmen.
In a crash of great clangs they all hustled around,
With bangs and clacks all the old walls came down.
And then, in the middle of the chalky, plastery air,
They all suddenly stopped and the room was bare!
They turned ‘round and cleaned up their tools ever so neatly:
Bob moved out of their way so they could finish completely.
And he laughed when he saw them finally cease;
They’d finished it all, what a great start to this masterpiece!
The crew picked up their tools and made their way to the door,
Bob watched them scurry out from the empty room on the ground floor.
They sprung to their trucks, which were idling to take flight,
And away they rode off, soon out of sight, But Bob heard them call back to his delight,
Happy demo to all, and to all a good night!
